It is very important for aspiring young musicians to attend concerts and performances from high quality collegiate ensembles. This not only trains their musical ears and helps them to develop a strong characteristic sound both individually and as an ensemble, but it also inspires young musicians to use their musical talents after high school. At Newnan High School, we are fortunate to have several great collegiate ensembles β€œin our back yard.” Students who attend one of these concerts can receive extra credit for their attendance. All they need to do is bring Dr. Boyd a program from the event showing they attended and then be prepared to briefly tell the class what they heard and saw at the concert.
