Newnan Music Institute
The Newnan Music Institute is a program of private instruction with carefully selected instructors who are experts in their field.
Participation in private lessons not only builds a solid foundation in technique that improves individual musical ability and performance, but also enhances their enjoyment of both classroom and extracurricular band activities.
By developing a command of the instrument, the student’s enjoyment increases, and his or her desire to learn fuels future success. Instructors provide individualized feedback specific to the student’s particular strengths and weaknesses.
Lessons can be geared to preparation towards school placement auditions, GMEA Honor Bands, Solo/Ensemble Festival, Governor’s Honors Program, and College Scholarship Auditions.
Payment and Attendance Guidelines
Lesson fees must be paid at each lesson or in advance of each lesson. $20 for 30 minutes and $35 for an hour are common rates for these instructors. Prices vary in both directions depending on the teacher. If they have to drive to the school, there will be an extra fee.
If Saturdays or Sundays are the only days that work, don’t worry. Some teachers prefer weekdays, some prefer Saturdays and Sundays.
If an instructor or a student needs to cancel, it must be with at least 24 hours notice. If the student cancels within 24 hours, it is considered a NO SHOW and they will still have to pay for the lesson.
Students are expected to come prepared to every lesson.
Students are expected to warm-up prior to the lesson to ensure a productive experience.
